Quieting our new year.

I have been reading through the book of Ruth lately. This book has really struck a chord with me, and in the next few posts I plan to look through this book in an attempt to bring out some of the gems that lie in it. For today's post though, I will simply leave you with a quote.

"Never be in a hurry; do everything quietly and in a calm spirit. Do not lose your inner peace for anything whatsoever, even if your whole world seems upset." ~ St. Frances de Sales.

Let us remember these words of wisdom as we go about this holiday season. How easy it is to get wrapped up in so much of the festivities that our inner peace is wave-blown with the turbulence of doing. Let us calm our storms. Let us approach the sleeping master with a heart of courage, asking him to speak his, "peace, be still" into our hearts and souls. For, if we need anything at the beginning of this new year, it is peace.
